Rafting-Pieniny

 An attractive rafting on the river Dunajec in traditional wooden Goral rafts along the largest natural canyon in Central Europe. The boarding port is at the beginning of the canyon in town Cerveny Klastor. The water-way is 11 km (7 miles) long across the whole canyon and ending at the village Lesnica. Your way of return you can arrange yourself by bus, cab, mountain bike or on foot. During the rafting time as for taking it more pleasant one can dine on locally produced specialities (such as, fresh sheep cheese, bacon, vegetables, bread, etc.), soft and alcoholic drinks. Before or after the rafting one can buy a picnic with local Goral folk music.
Region Zamagurie is situated North-East of Vysoke Tatry (High Tatra) mountain (about 50 km / 30 miles). Its part is the 2125 ha Pieniny National Park protected area with exceptional natural beauty, cliffy hill sides and rich variety of flora and fauna. The region biggest attractions are the folkloristic museum housed in Kartusian-Kamald monastery from 14. century located in town Cerveny Klastor and the rafting on traditional Goral rafts along 11 km long part of the border river Dunajec.
Rafting is organized during the months of April-November. The surrounding area is suitable for hiking, mountain biking and individual rafting. One can find tennis courts in Cerveny Klastor and in the cottage area of Goralsky dvor-Haligovce.
